BPnieuws covers FloraSpark: AI for ornamental horticulture

On 7 October, trade publication BPnieuws published an article about FloraSpark. In it, we explain how our platform turns ERP data into dashboards, reports, auction prices and an AI assistant that answers your questions in plain language.

We're proud to share that BPnieuws, the Dutch trade publication for ornamental horticulture, published an article about FloraSpark on 7 October, titled "Two 20-year-old students bring AI to horticulture with FloraSpark" (in Dutch). In it, we, Ties Mol and Sam Andringa, talk about the platform we founded together.

What the article covers

With FloraSpark, we bring together the business data of growers and trading companies. We pull the data from your ERP system and organise it in one place. The FloraSpark Suite builds on that with dashboards, reports and auction prices. With our assistant Spark AI, you can ask questions about your own company in plain language.

The article also explains how we handle access and security. You only see your own company's data, you decide per employee what is visible, and our API lets you use the data in your own software.

How it started

Alongside FloraSpark, we run SparkBI, a data and AI agency for small and medium-sized businesses. That work brought us into contact with ornamental horticulture, and what we learned there became the foundation for FloraSpark. We still develop new modules together with growers.

In the article, Ties summed up our goal as reducing a large amount of data to a single question.
